Phra Ajarn Fan Acaro, Wat Paa Undomsomporn, a Dhammayutika monk was born in 1899 in Amphoe Phanna Nikhom. His father Chao Chaikumara was a descendant of the town ruler of Phanna Nikhom. In his youth, Phra Arjan Fan was gentle, calm, hardworking and helpful.
Ajarn Fan started his schooling at Wat Bo Chai. He was so keen and reliable that sometimes he was a substitute teacher when the teacher was on leave. Later he studied with his brother-in-law in Khon Khaen and upon finishing his schooling he intended to enter civil service. However, he changed his mind because at one time he had been instructed to bring food to convicts in the prison, one was the prisoners amongst them was the former governor of Khon Khaen. The living conditions of the governor and the prisoners made him realized the uncertainities of life.
Ajarn Fan enetered monkhood when he was 20 years old. He was outstanding as he was able to memorized and recite the long Pali Canon. Moreover, he excel in meditation. After the rainy-retreat (vassa), he often wandered into the forests and cemeteries to seek seclusion so further his attainments in meditation.
In 1920, Arjan Fan attended sermons expounded by Phra Arjan Mun Bhuridatto, he then understood the discourse and gained confidence and became one of Arjan Mun's disciples, wandering with the master to remote areas all over the region. In the year 1925, he was ordained under the Dhammayutika order and became a wandering monk, seeking seclusive places to practice meditation. When he returned home, he usually stayed in a cemetery which is now Wat Pa Udom Somporn.

From 1956 to 1963, he often wandered back and forth between Wat Paa Tham Kham, Wat Paa Udom Somporn and Wat Paa Phuthon. Wherever he stayed, he will build temples and the nearby communities as well. Because of his old age and overworked, he became ill often and his health deteriorated. On 4th January, 1977 he passed away at Wat Paa Udom Somporn.

Phra Ajarn Fan Acaro was not only a noble monk who devoted himself to the ascetic life but also a leader in rural development. He founded and developed many temples, for example, Wat Paa Saddharam in Nakorn Ractchasima, Wat Paa Yodhaprasit in Surin, Wat Paa Phudhonpitak and Tham Kham monk's lodgings in Phnna Nikhom, Sakorn Nakkhon. He also built a residence for monks at Sakorn Nakkhon Hosppital. Moreover, he had a 30-bed hospital built for the people of Phnna Nikhom and is named after him.
