Sangharaja Phra Nyanasamvara@ Charoen Gajaratra (His Name at Birth) @ Somdet Phra Yannasangwon @ Sangharaja of Thailand was the 19th Supreme Patriarch of Thailand. He was appointed to the position in 1989 by King Bhumibol Adulyadej. He turned 100 in October 2013 and died tha same month.

Sangharaja Phra Nyanasamvara, was the 19th Sangharaja since the reign of Rama 1 to hold the title of Supreme Buddhist Patriarch (Sangharaja) of Thailand was born on 3rd October, 1913 in Kanchanaburi Province (at about 4am). As a child he was interested in religion and monastic life; it is said that, even as a child he liked dressing up as a monk, and found of giving sermons to his friends and family. He completed the equivalent of 5th grade at the monastic school nearby his home and was ordained as a Samanera (Buddhist Novice) at the age of 14. In those days, teachings of Pali and other fundamentals of Buddhist education were not readily available in his home province (a common problem in Thailand during the early 20th century), So Somdet Nyanasamvara traveled to a monastic school at Nakhon Pathom, approximately 70 km away, where he spent two years studying Pali and Buddhist Philosophy.

Later, he then moved to Wat Bowonranives in Bangkok, this is a Royal and important temple in the emergent Dham mayut Order (Thai called "Thammayuttika") reform movement, where he completed his basic studies and completed the highest level of Pali studies then available. In 1933, Somdet Nayanasamvara returned to his old temple in Kanchanaburi to be ordained as a full-fledged monk (Bhikkhu). After passing the better part of a year there, he again traveled to Wat Boworanives where he re-ordained into the Dhammayut Order under the supervision of the 13th Thai Supreme Patriarch.

SanghaRaja Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara in his younger days, very read in Dhamma as well as Secular Education. He was well versed in several languages such as English, Sanskirt, Pali, German, French and Chinese.

Purpose of this Amulet: General Protection, Increase Good Karma and Lower Bad Karma, Good Health, Bounces Back Against Back Stabbers, Protects from Enemies (Known & UnKnown) and Do Away with Problems.

During this period in Thailand, it was not uncommon for monks to seek re-ordination under the Dhammayut Order was considered by many to be more careful in its observance of disiplinary rules and enjoyed great support from the Thai monarchy.

In 1972, he was given the title Somdet Phra Nyanasamvara, the same basic title that he bears today. This was a special monastic title that had not been granted to a Thai bhikkhu in over 150 years. The granting of this title placed Somdet Phra Naynasamvara in the top tier of the Thai monastic establishment and set the stage for him being named the Supreme Buddhist Patriarch of Thailand (Sangharaja or "Lord of the Sangha") in 1989 by the King and Queen of Thailand.

King Bhumibol Adulyadej was ordained as a Monk (Bhikkhu) at Wat Bovoranives Vihara in 1956 (BE2499). His Holiness SanghaRaja Nyanasamvara was appointed the Adviser & Guardian to His Majesty King Rama 9.

Chitlarda Nang Phaya Buddha Amulet  BE253X Consecrated By: SanghaRaja Phra Nyanasamvara. Materials Included Holy Powders, Pong Wan, 108 Herbs & Flowers, King Bhumibol Adulyadej's Hairs (Kesas) and other Sacred Ingredients. In Original Temple Box. You Interested? Contact Me.

One of the reasons why the Jatukam Rammanthep was so powerful was that the sacred ingredients (such as Holy Powders, Burned Incense,  Poweders from Bricks, Etc) some of it was taken from Wat Bovoranives. The popularity of the Jatukam Amulets in the late nineties up to 2009 and could costs up to THB 600,000 each (many believed the Jatukam amulets have Magical Powers). On April 2007, a woman was crushed to death when thousands of people rushed into a school in Nakhon Si Thammrat to buy coupons they could exchange for the Jatukam amulets. A few weeks after the death of the woman, the Supreme Patriarch stopped providing the materials for the amulets.

By the late 1990s, the Patriarch's health was in serious decline. In early 1999, he stopped attending meetings of the Sangha Council. By 2003, it was clear that the 90 year old Thai Sangharaja was unable to effectively fill the position to which he had been appointed. In early 2004, Sangharaja was admitted to Chulalongkorn Hospital in Bangkok. He continued to reside in the hospital until his pari-nibbana  on 24th October, 2013.
